Curious about the militia? Media often paints a narrow, negative picture. We made this video to cut through the noise and show the reality.
Members of the 1st Battalion, 1st Regiment of the California State Militia sat down and spoke for themselves. Nurses, veterans, educators, business owners, parents, first responders, and everyday Californians share why they joined, what the organization means to them, and how they serve their communities.
You’ll hear about:
- Building real community and brotherhood grounded in shared values
- Training in practical skills—medical, communications, security, firearms, disaster response, and self-reliance—so members can help neighbors when systems are stretched thin
- Supporting first responders and local communities during emergencies rather than standing apart from them
- Honoring the constitutional role of the citizen militia while staying focused on service, not politics or provocation
