* Ukraine: At least 9 people are reported killed after Russia launched a significant wave of cruise missiles, drones, and even Russia’s new Hypersonic missiles overnight. This has been the most intense barrage in weeks (Since January). Though some missiles and drones were shot down, a significant amount got through and further damaged civilian areas and Power infrastructures. Power was cut off temporarily to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, Kharkiv was hit multiple times as was Odesa and locations all along the southern and eastern fronts. Russia has stated that this was in retaliation for a Ukrainian incursion into the Briansk region. 4 other notable events:
1) Transnistria (a breakaway region of Moldova) accused Ukraine of assassination plots in its borders.
2) A suspected cyber attack in Russia broadcast a red alert in several regions via TV and radio that stated “Nuclear strike has been conducted, please go to the shelter, take your calcium iodide pills”.
3) Ukraine Intelligence is warning of possible provocation by Russia on the border between Belarus and Ukraine.
4) Russian Foreign Minister, as well as a Kremlin Spokesperson, rejected the version of the Nord Stream sabotage issued by the U.S. and others yesterday.

Thoughts for the day
“Human nature is full of riddles and contradictions; its very complexity engenders art—and by art I mean the search for something more than simple linear formulations, flat solutions, oversimplified explanations. One of these riddles is: how is it that people who have been crushed by the sheer weight of slavery and cast to the bottom of the pit can nevertheless find strength to rise up and free themselves, first in spirit and then in body; while those who soar unhampered over the peaks of freedom suddenly appear to lose the taste for freedom, lose the will to defend it, and, hopelessly confused and lost, almost begin to crave slavery. Or again: why is it that societies which have been benumbed for half a century by lies they have been forced to swallow find within themselves a certain lucidity of heart and soul which enables them to see things in their true perspective and to perceive the real meaning of events; whereas societies with access to every kind of information suddenly plunge into lethargy, into a kind of mass blindness, a kind of voluntary self deception.” ― Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Warning to the West

Advisory: An advisory is issued when a hazardous weather or hydrologic event is occurring, imminent or likely. Advisories are for less serious conditions than warnings, that cause significant inconvenience and if caution is not exercised, could lead to situations that may threaten life or property.

Watch: A watch is used when the risk of a hazardous weather or hydrologic event has increased significantly, but its occurrence, location or timing is still uncertain. It is intended to provide enough lead time so those who need to set their plans in motion can do so. A watch means that hazardous weather is possible. People should have a plan of action in case a storm threatens and they should listen for later information and possible warnings especially when planning travel or outdoor activities.
