  | * California is experiencing one of the slowest starts to fire season in decades. However, fire experts point to the large beds of potential fuel as hills and lightly forested areas dry out to the golden yellow of summer. They also state that the high risk fire season is starting now until the rains come.forward. * A group of people has launched a committee in an effort to recall Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price. The “tough-on-crime” advocates of the group Safe Alameda for Everyone or “SAFE” for short are spearheading the recall attempt. Earlier this month, the committee filed paperwork with the county’s election office. That means the group intends to fund raise and collect signatures to recall the controversial DA. Rivka Polatnick, an activist and educator, is a Price supporter: “I was very involved in getting her elected,” she said. Polatnick and many of Price supporters believe the people behind the paperwork filed with the intent to recall her never wanted her there in the first place. |

| * Australia/ USA: 19 men have been arrested and charged with 138 offenses in Australia for their connection to an international pedophile ring. 13 children were also rescued during the operation. The Australian bust was the result of a continued investigation after the death of two FBI agents attempting to serve a search warrant for child pornography in Florida in 2021. That suspect also wounded three others when he ambushed the agents by firing a rifle through a door. * Belarus: The country is conducting ongoing military exercises on the Polish and Lithuanian borders. Wagner Group fighters have been reported to be participating in the exercises as well as contributing to the training. * China/ Pacific: China has increased tensions with the Philippines by calling for the removal of a Philippine Marine outpost on the Second Thomas Shoal. This comes three days after a Chinese coast guard vessel attacked a Philippine military resupply mission to the outpost with water cannons. These actions mimic similar tactics used to push Vietnam out of the Parcel Islands. China then proceeded to build military air and naval bases on those islands and shoals. In 2016, an international court ruled that China’s claim to the Second Thomas Shoal was illegitimate. * Australia and the U.S.: The two nations have agreed to jointly increase precision-guided munitions in preparation for a potential conflict with China. |     |
