| * Saudia Arabia: The nation is moving away from Western ties, especially with the U.S. and closure to China. Calling it a new Silk Road, the Saudi Vision 2030 aims to become more integrated into China’s Belt and Road Initiative. At least 2 multi-billion dollar deals have been made to develop an oil refinery and petrochemical facility in China. The Saudi company, Aramco, is expected to accept payments in the Chinese Yuan. * Ukraine: A bipartisan group of U.S. Representatives is pushing the Biden administration to provide Ukraine with Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS). This would give Ukraine the ability to strike deeper into Russian territory. Another group in the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees is urging Biden to provide F-16 fighters. * Ukraine Offensive: Ukrainian Forces pushed frontal assaults in the Zaporizhia and Luhansk Oblasts on Sunday. Reports are that Russian anti-tank crews were successful in destroying a significant number of Leopard tanks and American-made armor (reports are these are mostly Bradley fighting vehicles). The offensive is being waged against well-entrenched and built-up ground defensive positions as well as without air superiority. Though these losses may seem large, Ukraine has yet to commit the majority of it’s forces committed to the offensive and these are likely still probing attacks looking for areas to exploit. |    |
