  | * Russia: Celebrations of Russia’s Victory Day included a speech from Russian President Putin declaring the West is waging a real war against Russia. Ukraine also reported that Russia launched 25 cruise missiles in targets within Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces claim to have shot down 23. * Ukraine: Bakhmut is still not completely in Russian control. The Wagner Group has decided not to leave the town as Russia has promised to provide ammunition and rearm the PMC group. Bakhmut will likely remain a drain on both sides with no clear victor in the near future. Ukrainian forces are dug into fortifications and defensive positions on the western road leading out of the city. The Wagner group has been reported as taking a casualty for every meter of ground they take. |
