It was reported that the initial goal was an attack on a depot storing Russian tactical nuclear weapons in an attempt to steal them. Russia is reporting that 70 nationalists were killed and 4 armored vehicles were destroyed. * China: China has canceled purchase orders for 800,000 tons of U.S. corn due to a large wheat surplus. * Russia & China: The two nations signed various mutual support agreements for joint cooperation including trade services, agricultural goods, and sports cooperation. |   |

   | * Debt Ceiling: [UPDATE] Negotiations are still at a standstill. Many analysts are stating that the closer it gets to the “x-date” the more economic damage the United States will face, even if a deal is made.[END UPDATE] Negotiations came to a standstill over the weekend with Republican and Democrat negotiators being unable to find common ground on spending cuts and work requirements for entitlement programs. Treasury Secretary Yellen has stated that the June 1st “x-date” is the deadline for raising the debt ceiling. * 2A Infringement: President Biden is expected to call on Republicans to enact “Commonsense” gun laws on the one-year anniversary of the killings at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Calling it an epidemic of gun violence instead of addressing a population that more and more has lost a common moral guidance, President Biden has continually pushed an “Assault Weapons” ban among other Constitutional infringements. * 2A Win: The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has temporarily blocked the ATF and Biden administration “from fully enforcing new regulations on pistols with stabilizing braces…” “The full impact of the court’s decision wasn’t immediately clear. The order applied only to the plaintiffs in the case: two gun owners, a company that makes pistols with stabilizing braces, and a gun-rights group. The appeals court did not say whether the rule was blocked for others, including people who buy the guns from the company, Maxim Defense Industries, and members of the Firearms Policy Coalition.” FPC is currently seeking clarification on the matter. |
